Bio

“My deepest hope is that someday when you listen you will lose yourself, even for a moment, in the music without a thought to who or how or why.”

Scott Peterson first picked up the guitar in 1980, and started working in bands by '83. Since then, he has honed his live performance repertoire across the musical spectrum, taking turns in rock, pop, and country outfits.

To further this informal education, Scott studied under accomplished master classical guitarist Michael Bryce at the University of Michigan.

Along the way, musical highlights include The Marilyn Mack Group's 1998 release Under. Scott co-wrote and co-produced this album of original rock/pop tracks. 2001 brought the release of Rainshine, an instrumental album driven by

rock and funk guitar motifs. Scott wrote, recorded, mixed, and mastered the project.

Live, you can find Scott holding it down in Detroit's local venues. He has made a mark on the regional scene performing regularly at places like Harper's, Novi's, Dino's, JW's Sports Bar, 5th Ave. (Downtown Detroit), 5th Ave. Billiards (Novi), Salici's, Memphis Smoke, The Token, Lower Town Grille, Rochester Beer Company, The Boathouse, and Moose McGregor's among others. No stranger to the festival scene, Scott has played live at the Ann Arbor Art Fair, and Pontiac's Arts, Beats & Eats.

On the web, Scott administrates The Gear Page, a site dedicated to discussing music gear with good vibes. A major previous hangout was administrating the original, official PRS-sanctioned guitar forum.
